The barn is a traditional Scottish construction with earth floor and no foundations. The walls are punctured with various holes from all kinds of farming activities over the years. We dont yet know how old the barn is but from the maps you can see there have been buildings on this site since before 1820. From the slanted roof line and construction we would guess it has been around for over 200 years. The large double door on the back is a late addition for tractor access and now needs replaced but first we had to repair the roof. Then put on doors and floor it… The work goes on.
